Wikipedia reports that  A thunderegg (or thunder egg) is a nodule-like rock, similar to a filled geode, that is formed within rhyolitic volcanic ash layers.   This ThunderEgg came from  Oregon, most likely from the  Richardson  Ranch, in the mid-1990s.

Overall dimensions of this nodule are: 3.5×3.25×1.5 inches
